Arasley Rios, the organizer of the Unite Our Nation event in Santa Fe, said it is "an invitation for all of us to make a difference in our communities, our country and our world."

A Unite Our Nation event scheduled today in Downtown Santa Fe is hoping to bring people together in prayer for the country.

The Unite Our Nation coordinator of Santa Fe's event, Arasely Rios, said she chose to get involved because she believes everyone must unite to bring God's light into the world.

"We cannot walk alone in this battle against good and evil. We must unite in the commonality of our traditional Catholic principles, our faith, and through vocal means," Rios told the Santa Fe Standard. "We must make ourselves visible and bring God’s light and word into the darkness of this world. Together we can make a difference."

Unite Our Nation is a growing movement across the United States since its first gathering in Wisconsin two months ago. As the Wisconsin Catholic Tribune reported, more than 3,000 gathered together in prayer in Madison after rioters left destruction in their path.

Rios said efforts such as Unite Our Nation are important.

"The efforts of organizations like Unite Our Nation is the voice of the people in the Catholic community. Our voice is important to our nation because we align with biblical laws, which are the highest laws of heaven," Rios said. "These laws inspired our nation's constitutional laws, which are the highest laws of our land, in protecting life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

For Catholics, the organization gives them an opportunity to make a difference, Rios said.

"Unite Our Nation is an invitation for all of us to make a difference in our communities, our country and our world. To be the silent voice no longer. To show that we are strong and vast together, and that we are here to stay," Rios said.

The Santa Fe event will be held at The Plaza, 63 Lincoln Ave., at 11:30 a.m. The event is open to the public and is prayer, non-political and family-friendly. Clergy will lead the rally and the rosary will be prayed in both English and Latin.

"I encourage everyone to become vocal, to be bold about your faith and to pierce the fog of violence and evil that lurks within our streets and our governments," Rios said. "For these reasons, I created a Rosary Rally in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico to unite in praying the rosary on Oct. 7 on The Feast Day of Our Lady of The Rosary."

Rios said at the rally, "we will pray in one strong voice for our country, our liberal state of New Mexico, and for the end of abortion. New Mexico houses one of the busiest full-term abortion clinics that murder babies in the womb unto the point of birth. We can end this through prayer, by voting, and by making ourselves visible."
