Burn Ban In Effect Until Further Notice

Burn Ban In Effect Until Further Notice
0Comments

Santa Fe County issued the following announcement on April 14.

The Santa Fe County Fire Marshal has issued an open burning permit ban, effective Wednesday, April 13, 2022, and continuing until further notice.
In an attempt to eliminate the risk of a wildland fire, all current Santa Fe County burn permits are now suspended, along with the issuance of any new permits.
The only exceptions to the open burn permit ban include:
• Outdoor gas stoves or grills with a shut-off valve, located 3 feet from any structure or combustible materials
• Portable outdoor fireplaces, located 15 feet from any structure or combustible materials
Due to the weather conditions we are experiencing (dry fuels, high winds, low humidity), please use extreme caution if you are engaging in any of the exception rules as well as discarding of smoking materials, dragging trailer chains, or other fire-related activities.
