The City of Santa Fe announced on April 15 that the Buckman MX Track will reopen for the summer season on April 25, starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. followed by a full day of motocross activities.

The reopening event marks the completion of recent improvements to the track, which were carried out in partnership with iRide New Mexico and the New Mexico Department of Transportation. The upgrades include enhanced riding surfaces and installation of a new cistern to help maintain the track and control dust. According to city officials, these changes are part of a $140,000 investment aimed at creating a safer and more enjoyable environment for both riders and spectators.

Riders from all skill levels as well as fans are invited to attend the event, which also serves as the kickoff for an active summer season at Buckman MX Track.

The city encourages those interested in learning more about local parks and open spaces to visit its website for additional information.

The improvements reflect ongoing efforts by Santa Fe to support recreational opportunities and enhance community facilities. City officials say they hope these investments will lead to increased participation in motocross events throughout the summer.
