The City of Santa Fe announced on May 1 that its Community Gallery will hold two panel discussions in May as part of the ongoing group exhibition, [TabLe]. The exhibition features works by 23 artists who explore the meaning and significance of the family table.
These events aim to offer the public an opportunity to engage with themes such as solitude, fear, memory, conflict, nostalgia, absence, and idealization connected to the family table. The [TabLe] exhibition is curated by Kemely Gómez, RocÃo RodrÃguez, and Carol Schrader.
The first discussion, titled ‘[TabLe] Talk: Rituals and Memory,’ will take place on May 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will begin with a poetry reading by Sofia Salazar followed by a conversation featuring Alice Gould, Moss, Chantel Foretich, JESHAKA, and Jebhani Vargas. The second event in the series is ‘[TabLe] Talk: Reinventing Tradition and Materiality,’ scheduled for May 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., beginning with a poetry reading by Brenda Roper and including panelists Polina Smutko, Julie Deery, Juna Skënderi, Jennie Kiessling, and Oriana Lee.
According to the announcement from the City of Santa Fe Arts and Culture Department—all programs are funded by this department—events are free and open to all unless otherwise noted. Seating for these events is available on a first-come basis.
The city also offers newsletters that provide information about upcoming events as well as news related to recreation activities or road construction reports.
