The Santa Fe County Eldorado Convenience Center at 28736 US Highway 285 will close its tipping floor for resurfacing beginning June 15, according to a June 1 announcement. The improvement project affects the area used to collect waste, but the facility will remain open during regular business hours from Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

During the closure, guests will be directed by staff to use a temporary tipping floor installed onsite. Dumping trailers will not be permitted at this temporary location, and all waste must be unloaded by hand. Customers using trailers must unload all materials manually.

The closure of the main tipping floor is expected to continue until the project is completed. For more information about all Santa Fe County convenience centers—including hours, rules, and prohibited materials—residents are encouraged to visit the Convenience Center/Transfer Center webpage.

“Santa Fe County and the Eldorado Collection Center appreciate your patience and cooperation during this improvement project,” officials said in a statement.

Santa Fe County provides essential services such as public safety, health and human services, public works, and community development across incorporated municipalities, pueblos, and unincorporated areas under policy set by a Board of County Commissioners with administrative oversight from a county manager; it supports these operations through facilities throughout the region and promotes community engagement through public meetings and advisory boards, according to the official website.
