An unauthorized “drone” or unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted inside the Cerro Pelado Fire area this afternoon where there is a FAA Temporary Flight Restriction in place. This incursion shut down all firefighting aircraft on the fire in the name of safety. Not having the aircraft available leaves the firefighters without this important asset and slows progress on suppression. Remember: “If you fly, we can’t!”
