Central Avenue between Oppenheimer and 20th Street will be closed on Saturday, April 16th from 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., in support of the combined efforts of the Los Alamos Fire Department, the Los Alamos Elks Lodge, and many more to present the community with a safe and fun family event – The Annual Elk’s Easter Egg Hunt plus Wildfire Day 2022. Activities start at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m. This will be a fun event for the entire family with the Easter Egg Hunt beginning promptly at 11am. A bicycle rodeo and children’s bicycle helmet giveaway will take place and bouncy houses will be available for the kids. LAFD wildland fire apparatus, the LAPD bomb truck, U.S. Forest Service wildland trucks, Espanola Fire Department apparatus and the Classic Air Medical helicopter will be on display. Come and meet—Smokey the Bear, Sparky the Fire Dog, the Easter Bunny, and more.
