Los Alamos County Is So Fortunate to Have Such an Amazing Animal Shelter

Los Alamos County is so fortunate to have such an amazing Animal Shelter. Not only do they take great care of the local furry friends, but the Los Alamos Animal Shelter also takes in animals from the EspaƱola shelter when they need a little help.
One of our #favoritethings to do in the community is to volunteer with the resident puppies and kitties. If you haven’t volunteered in a while, stop by anytime! If you have never volunteered and would like to, stop by the Animal Shelter and pick up a volunteer application to get started. The shelter is always looking for new volunteers!
Animals currently at the shelter include nine dogs and three cats:
K-9 Barney – male Shepard-mix
K-9 Flynn – male Hound-mix
K-9 Betty – female Shepard-mix
K-9 Jasper – male Australian Shepard-mix
K-9 Luna – female Pit-mix
K-9 Sky – female Husky-mix
K-9 Lucky – male Akita-mix
K-9 Goofy – male Hound-mix
Feline Charming – Siamese flame point male
Feline Luna – female
Feline Lacey – female feral cat
On August 3, the Animal Shelter held a very successful adoption event. We hope to have more events in the future. Stay informed about what’s going on at the shelter by following us on Facebook!
