Los Alamos Police Department Would Like to Remind Motorists

0Comments

The Los Alamos Police Department would like to remind motorists that vehicles must stop when the flashing red lights of a school bus are activated and children are loading and unloading. Vehicles driving in both directions must come to a complete stop, 10 feet before the school bus, when the red lights are activated. Los Alamos Public Schools return on August 10, 2022, and officers will be out throughout the school year strictly enforcing this motor vehicle violation. Los Alamos Public Schools recently purchased and installed cameras on the school bus stop signs to capture and record motorists who violate running the school bus stop signs.  LAPD can use the evidence from the video and photographs to issue citations through the mail to violators. Please do your part to ensure we have a great and safe school year.
