Mayor Michael Garcia announced on May 22 that the City of Santa Fe will host a Mayor’s Summit on Homelessness. The event is scheduled for Monday, June 29 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center and aims to bring together community members, service providers, nonprofit organizations, and regional partners.
The summit is part of Garcia’s efforts to address homelessness in Santa Fe, which he describes as one of his top priorities. According to the announcement, the goal is to foster collaboration among stakeholders and develop long-term solutions to what is described as one of the city’s most pressing challenges.
The summit will include two sessions. The morning session will be a working meeting for partners and providers already engaged with the City in addressing homelessness. Participants are expected to discuss current initiatives, shared obstacles, opportunities for coordination, and strategies to improve support services throughout the community.
An evening session will serve as a public forum open to all community members. This portion of the event is designed to encourage public input and discussion about homelessness in Santa Fe. Residents will have an opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, and contribute ideas toward future approaches.
Details about session times and registration information are expected soon. Organizers invite interested parties to stay updated through official channels.
