The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department announced that live delinquent property tax auctions will be held in Doña Ana and Luna Counties in late March and April for properties with unpaid taxes.

According to the department, the auctions are scheduled to collect delinquent property taxes when taxes have been overdue for at least three years. The state notifies delinquent taxpayers about the taxes due and planned sales of property. If the state is unable to collect the delinquent taxes, the subject properties are auctioned for sale.

The auction in Doña Ana County is set for 10 a.m., March 30 at 845 N Motel Blvd., Las Cruces. In Luna County, auctions will take place at 10 a.m. on April 14 and 15 at the Luna Auction Site, located at 700 S Silver Ave. #5, Deming.

Successful bidders must make payment in full before the conclusion of each auction by money order, certified check, cashier’s check or a personal or business check accompanied by a bank letter of credit guaranteeing payment in at least the amount bid. Registration begins in person at 8 a.m. on each auction day and ends promptly at auction time; only registered bidders may participate.

More information about terms of sale, future auctions, and frequently asked questions can be found on the Delinquent Property Tax Auctions page under Business then Property Tax on tax.newmexico.gov. The department said that if all accounts are paid in full before an auction date, that auction will be canceled.

Further details are available according to the official roster page.
