People who test positive for COVID-19 and who are at risk for getting very sick should get treatment right away. There are three types of treatment:
Evusheld: Long-acting Antibodies – available for people who are immunocompromised such as people who: have cancer, severe HIV, have had an organ or stem cell transplant, or have a weakened immune system. It can be used in addition to vaccines to provide more protection against COVID-19.
Oral Medicines: People ages 12 or older, who are COVID-19 positive, who are not hospitalized, and who are at high risk for getting very sick are able to use oral medicines. Oral treatments need to be taken within 5 days of starting symptoms.
IV Medications: IV medications can be given to people who are 12 years or older, who are COVID positive, and who are not hospitalized. IV treatments must be given within 10 days of starting symptoms and must be given in a clinical setting such as a hospital or healthcare center.
If you are interested in any of these treatments, talk to your doctor or call the COVID-19 hotline at 1-855-600-3453.
