Roadwork is scheduled to begin on Richards Avenue in Santa Fe County starting March 10, affecting the stretch between Rabbit Road and Avenida del Sur. Message boards have been set up along the route to alert travelers about the upcoming construction.
Contractors will be removing humps left on the roadway shoulders from previous paving. This phase of work is expected to last for two days, concluding on March 11. Additional work will follow as another group of contractors addresses transitions on the roads, including at two roundabouts: one at Willow Back Road and another at College Drive near Santa Fe Community College.
During this period, traffic may be reduced to one lane and directed by operators at the site. Travelers are advised to allow extra time and remain alert for workers in the area.
“You can report road maintenance issues online, or by calling Santa Fe County Public Works, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 505-986-6278.”
