The City of Santa Fe announced on April 22 that it will host the next River Talks event focusing on wildfire and watershed resilience in Northern New Mexico. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Iconik Red, located at 1366 Cerrillos Road.
The topic of wildfire and watershed resilience is significant for the Santa Fe area due to its impact on water resources and community safety. The upcoming session aims to inform residents about how forest management contributes to protecting both water supplies and local neighborhoods.
Speakers at the event will include Alan Hook from the City of Santa Fe Water Division and Eytan Krasilovsky from the Forest Stewards Guild. According to organizers, attendees will have an opportunity to learn about past, present, and future efforts in landscape watershed management around Santa Fe as well as practical steps they can take locally to become more fire-adapted.
River Talks is a free series sponsored by the Forest Stewards Guild that features presentations and tours designed for community members interested in learning more about the Santa Fe River, its watershed, and related topics. All events are open to the public without charge.
Further information about River Talks 2026 and upcoming sessions can be found through official city channels.
