The City of Santa Fe announced on May 4 that construction has started on a new tot lot playground at La Resolana Park. The project is aimed at providing a play area specifically designed for children ages 2 to 5, which will complement the existing structure intended for older children.

City officials said the first phase of work will focus on excavation and site preparation, with crews preparing a safe and stable foundation for the new playground equipment. This initial phase is expected to last about two weeks before moving into installation of the play elements.

Completion of the new tot lot is anticipated by the end of June. The city expressed appreciation for residents’ patience during construction and said these efforts are an important step toward creating a fun and welcoming space for young children.

Community members with questions can contact Carlos Saiz at 505-637-2163 or crsaiz@santafenm.gov.

The city also reminded residents that it offers various newsletters covering event announcements, recreation news, breaking news, and road construction updates.

Looking ahead, officials expect that once finished, the new playground will enhance recreational opportunities in La Resolana Park for families with young children.
