The City of Santa Fe announced on April 30 that the swimming pools at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center will be closed on Saturday, May 2, to host the City of Santa Fe Elementary Swim Meet. Regular pool hours are scheduled to resume on Sunday, May 3.
The closure is intended to support a local event that encourages fitness and sportsmanship among young residents. The city said it is committed to providing opportunities that promote athletic achievement in the community.
“We are proud to support opportunities that promote fitness, sportsmanship, and athletic achievement in our community,” said city officials in a statement.
