As Independence Day approaches, Santa Fe County has announced the closure of all administrative offices and facilities on Friday, July 4, 2025. This observance includes Senior Centers, where eligible seniors will receive additional home-delivered meals prior to the holiday. All Solid Waste Convenience Centers will also be closed, though essential public safety services will continue to operate.

Regular business hours for administrative offices are set to resume on Monday, July 7, 2025. For further details regarding the closures and other county-related information, residents are encouraged to visit www.santafecountynm.gov.

The county recognizes the importance of this holiday as a time not only for celebration but also for reflection on shared responsibilities towards equity, justice, and dignity. “We urge everyone to act responsibly,” a county representative stated in relation to fireworks usage during this period. Due to high wildfire risk in the region, residents are advised to adhere strictly to the County’s fireworks ban and use only permitted fireworks while considering community safety.

The announcement highlights gratitude towards members of armed forces and public servants who contribute daily towards protecting freedoms—especially voters, educators, community builders, and local leaders.
