Santa Fe County is inviting residents to participate in a community forum titled “Santa Fe County Water: Today and Tomorrow,” which will focus on the county’s water resources. The event is scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Board of County Commissioners Chambers located at 102 Grant Street in Santa Fe. Those unable to attend in person can watch via livestream.

The forum aims to foster discussion among county staff, community partners, and members of the public regarding water use, management, and sustainability within Santa Fe County. Topics planned for presentation include the sources and uses of local water resources, administration of domestic wells and groundwater, stormwater management, collaboration with state, tribal, and community entities, as well as how land use and development impact water consumption. The agenda also features information about county programs related to water resilience and sustainability and an overview of the upcoming 2026 Next Generation Water Summit.

During the event, commissioners will ask questions that reflect input received from residents. A closing discussion will address strategies for ensuring long-term water resilience in Santa Fe County.

Residents are encouraged to submit questions or suggestions related to water management or conservation by October 20, 2025. These submissions will help shape the conversation during the forum. More information and a submission form are available at https://www.santafecountynm.gov/santafecountywater.

“Throughout the forum, Commissioners will pose questions informed by public input and lead a closing discussion on how Santa Fe County can continue to ensure long-term water resilience.”
