Santa Fe County has announced that maintenance work will take place at Nambe Dam on Friday, November 7, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m. The work is scheduled to last about four hours.

Residents in District 1 and nearby communities are advised that water levels may temporarily rise during the maintenance period. Increased water flow downstream is also expected. People living near roads, low-water crossings, and areas close to the river or irrigation channels are urged to use caution.

The county stated that this maintenance aims to ensure the continued safety and proper operation of Nambe Dam. “Santa Fe County appreciates the public’s cooperation and awareness during this work,” according to the announcement.

Communities potentially affected by these changes include Nambe Pueblo, Pojoaque Pueblo, Jacona, Jaconita, and San Ildefonso. Although flooding is not anticipated, officials warn that river flows could become deep and swift enough to make crossings unsafe. Residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions.

Further information and a map with more details will be released later today.

For questions or additional information, residents can contact Ralph Manzanares, PVID District Manager, at 505-470-3425 or ralphm@pvidnm.org.
