Santa Fe County will hold a second session of its water forum, “Santa Fe County Water: Today and Tomorrow,” on November 17, 2025. The meeting is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Board of County Commissioners Chambers at 102 Grant Ave, Santa Fe. It will also be available via livestream for public participation through www.santafecountynm.gov/joinmeeting.
The decision to continue the discussion follows significant interest and engagement during the October session, where county staff and a representative from the City of Santa Fe gave updates on topics such as water resources, groundwater management, stormwater programs, and land use planning. Due to the high volume of information and community questions, the initial meeting exceeded its planned time.
At the upcoming session, residents will again have opportunities to ask questions after each presentation both in person and online. The agenda includes discussions on collaboration between Santa Fe County, the City of Santa Fe, and other organizations; water conservation efforts; domestic well metering; stormwater management; rural water systems; acequia partnerships; agricultural support; and an update on the Next Generation Water Summit 2026 that will be co-hosted with the City of Santa Fe.
Commissioner Camilla Bustamante stated: “We had such an incredible level of participation and engagement that it only made sense to continue. This discussion isn’t just about data – it’s about collaboration, transparency, and shaping how Santa Fe County manages water for the future.”
Residents are encouraged to attend in person or join virtually at www.santafecountynm.gov/joinmeeting. Additional information can be found at SantaFeCountyWater.
