The Santa Fe County Community Services Department is seeking a volunteer to join the Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC) as a representative from District 1. The commission, which has nine members, is looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds and experience in various health care services.

The HPPC provides guidance and recommendations to both the Community Services Department and the Board of County Commissioners on matters related to health care services in Santa Fe County. Responsibilities include researching issues assigned by the Board, suggesting updates to the Health Action Plan, providing input on health and programmatic concerns, monitoring developments in health care at different government levels, and offering information to the Board as needed. The commission also addresses community feedback about healthcare needs within the county.

HPPC was created under Resolution 2020-100. Appointments require confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners based on applicants’ letters of interest and qualifications in the health field. Residency in Santa Fe County is required for all members.

Interested individuals should submit a resume and letter of interest addressed to Coy Maienza, Health Care Assistance Admin Program Manager at the Santa Fe County Community Services Department. Applications can be mailed to PO Box 267, Santa Fe, NM 87501 or sent via email to cmaienza@santafecountynm.gov. The deadline for applications is Monday, September 15, 2025, at 5:00 pm. A background check will be required for those appointed.
