Santa Fe, NM – The Santa Fe County Public Works Department has announced a call for submissions from local artists and galleries as part of its new Art on Loan program. This initiative seeks to enhance two roundabouts along Richards Avenue with public art, aligning with the recent NE/SE Connector roads project.

The artworks will be installed at the roundabouts located at Richards Avenue and Dinosaur Trail/Rabbit Road (Roundabout #1) and Richards Avenue and Avenida del Sur (Roundabout #4). Artists or galleries whose work is selected will enter into a five-year loan agreement with the County. The proposed artworks must be existing sculptures that are available for installation and suitable for outdoor public display. Eligible artists must be at least 18 years old and reside or work in New Mexico, with medium- to large-scale artworks preferred.

Key dates for the program include an August 15, 2025 deadline for submissions by 5:00 PM MST, selection notifications in September 2025, contract administration in October–November 2025, and artwork installation planned for December 2025/January 2026.

Artists and galleries interested in participating are encouraged to submit a PDF proposal containing an artist bio, artwork description, and images of the artwork. Additional information and a sample loan contract can be accessed via Dropbox.

For any inquiries regarding submissions, contact Rod Lambert, Project Manager 2, at 505-992-9868 or rlambert@santafecountynm.gov.
