The City of Santa Fe announced on April 21 that it is seeking applicants to fill four vacancies on the Bicycling and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC).

BPAC plays a role in advising on bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, policies, and programs throughout the community. The committee’s input helps shape safer and more equitable transportation options for residents.

Currently, the city is looking for two residents from Council District 2, one resident from Council District 3, and one resident from the County of Santa Fe to join BPAC. The ten-member committee was established in 2003 to promote bicycling and walking as both transportation methods and recreational activities. BPAC works with city staff and regional partners to support infrastructure planning, public education efforts, and improvements to trail systems.

Committee meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Council Chambers located at 200 Lincoln Avenue. Members are appointed by the Mayor upon recommendation from the City Council. These positions are voluntary and unpaid.

Applicants do not need to be bicyclists; individuals who can represent a broad range of perspectives—including recreation, youth interests, neighborhood groups, commuting needs, or accessibility—are encouraged to apply. Interested parties should submit a letter of interest along with a résumé to Romella Glorioso-Moss at rsglorioso-moss@santafenm.gov.
