Sheriff’s Office Honors SFSO Deputies Serving in Military with Appreciation Luncheon

Santa Fe County Sheriff issued the following announcement on April 2.

Today, Sheriff Adan Mendoza and the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office recognized and honored Santa Fe County Deputy Sheriff’s enlisted in the New Mexico National Guard who were recently deployed and have returned to duty at the sheriff’s office.
We extend our heartfelt and sincere appreciation to our sworn and administrative personnel who have served and serve our country.
Your public service to country and community is most valued and held in high esteem.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office is honored to recognize the following deputy sheriff’s:
* Sheriff Corporal Robert J. Garcia, Operation Inherent Resolve, Syria Task Force Wolfpack
* Deputy Sheriff Leonardo Guzman, Operation Guardian, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa
* Deputy Jose Puentes, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Afghanistan
* Deputy Sheriff Ian Burr, Operation Guardian, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa
* Deputy Sheriff Edgar Madrid, Operation Guardian, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa
Special acknowledgment and thanks is provided to the St. Michael’s High School Marching Band who appeared to perform our National Anthem and America the Beautiful on behalf of the honorees.
We also extend our gratitude to Ms. Judy Gurule, Deputy Sheriff Martin Arellano and Lt. Jose Rodriguez  in our Community Support Services and administrative staff for spearheading and organizing this special event.
