The New Mexico Department of Health’s Grant County public health office will hold a flu vaccine clinic at 2610 N. Silver St. in Silver City, NM. The clinic is scheduled for Monday, Oct 7, from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 6 p.m.
Vaccinations will be provided free of charge, and no insurance is required to receive the vaccine. However, individuals with healthcare coverage are encouraged to bring their insurance card, including Medicaid or Medicare.
“Flu vaccines are updated every year to offer us the best protection against the virus,” said Dr. Miranda Durham, Chief Medical Officer of NMHealth. “Getting you and your family vaccinated every year helps reduce the chances of getting sick, missing work or school, or developing serious illness.”
NMHealth advises annual flu vaccinations for everyone aged six months and older during the flu season, which spans from October to May. This recommendation is particularly emphasized for individuals in high-risk groups.
For more information about the clinic, residents can contact the Grant County public health office at (575) 538-5318 and select option 4.
