Authorities estimate 3,445 acres of land in the Jemez area have been burned due to the Cerro Pelado Fire. This report was updated after a fly over was conducted on the area where the Cerro Pelado Fire is most active on Saturday (4.23.2022). There are still no reports of any injuries or what may have caused the fire. The Jemez area is still under evacuation and there will be no thru traffic on NM Highway 4 from the Jemez falls area and closer to the Los Alamos County line. Authorities are reporting that the Cerro Pelado Fire is still zero percent contained.
