Los Alamos County ranked first in state for resident earnings in 2017

Los Alamos County ranked first among counties in New Mexico by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Los Alamos County residents was an inflation-adjusted $57,089 per year. Los Alamos County had 7,525 households in 2017, with a population of 18,031.

Mora County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in New Mexico, with a median income of only $12,481 per year. That was $44,608 less than the median income in Los Alamos County at the time. Mora County had 1,513 households in 2017 and a population of 4,605.
