UPDATE:
City Office of Affordable Housing Releases Request for Applications
for Housing Funds

$3 Million Immediately Available From Affordable Housing Trust Fund for the Creation, Preservation, and Rehabilitation of Affordable Housing

October 21, 2021--The City of Santa Fe’s Office of Affordable Housing announces the availability of funds to support affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Santa Fe residents. Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is immediately available from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF).

The City’s Community Development Commission (CDC), chaired by Councilwoman Renee Villarreal, reviews applications, hears applicant presentations as applicable, and makes funding recommendations to the Governing Body.

“This funding is truly transformative in that it fills gaps for which other sources of housing funds either aren’t available or aren’t flexible enough to use in an effective manner,” says Councilwoman Villarreal. “Every year, I am inspired by the important work our community partners are doing to meet the needs of Santa Feans and proud that the City of Santa Fe can support this work.”

The global health pandemic has made housing needs even more acute. For that reason, the CDC has identified preventing housing instability and ending homelessness as its funding priorities. The Request For Applications can be found here: santafenm.gov/bids_rfps/detail/no_2207r

Submittals are due by 5 p.m., November 10, 2021An informational meeting will be held on October 27 for interested applicants. Email agladd@santafenm.gov for a Zoom link.

AHTF funds are set aside from local sources of revenue. Eligible uses are restricted to the costs of acquisition, development, construction, renovation or conversion, financing, operation or owning affordable housing or infrastructure.
