Santa Fe Community College issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
Dear Students and Colleagues,
Your health as well as the safety of our shared community is SFCC’s top priority. This afternoon, SFCC learned of one confirmed positive COVID-19 test within the campus community. The area in which this individual visited on campus is being sanitized in accordance with Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention and New Mexico Department of Health guidelines. We are working with the New Mexico Department of Health to contact any individuals who may have come into contact with the individual who tested positive. If you have not been contacted, you have not been identified as someone who experienced a possible exposure to the person who has tested positive.
Please note that future information related to positive COVID-19 tests at SFCC will be posted on the SFCC COVID-19 Reports page, located on our SFCC COVID Reopening Plan website.
More specifics – including safe work practices and guidelines, a COVID self-screening form, and phased reopening scenarios – are available in SFCC’s “COVID-19 Readiness Plan.”
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to navigate this pandemic. Thank you for your dedication to the college and for staying safe.
Sincerely,
Becky Rowley, Ph.D.
SFCC President
