The City of Santa Fe Releases Report on Community Development Block Grant Spending

The public is invited to speak at a hearing on September 8, 2021, about accomplishments related to affordable housing, public services, and community facilities.

September 7, 2021 — The City of Santa Fe receives an annual grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) called the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Funds are used to address the housing and community development needs of Santa Fe’s residents with low-and-moderate-incomes.

As a condition of funding, the City submits annually the Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) to HUD which describes how CDBG funds and other local and state funds were used in the community for the program year ending June 30, 2021. The Report describes the extent to which priorities, goals and strategies have been met as identified in the City’s 2018 – 2022 Consolidated Plan.

A draft of the 2020-2021 CAPER reflecting community and stakeholder input is available for review and comment on the City of Santa Fe’s website in the Policy and Research section of the Office of Affordable Housing at santafenm.gov/hudrequiredreportingandplans. Due to pandemic restrictions, paper copies can be provided only upon request to: tocandelariamartinez@santafenm.gov, 505-316-4634.

A public hearing to consider the CAPER will be held at a regular Governing Body meeting via Zoom on September 8, 2021. The item is on the evening session agenda, which is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The Zoom link and packet materials can be found at: https://santafe.primegov.com/public/portal

Persons with disabilities in need of accommodations may contact the City Clerk’s Office at (505) 955-6521. Auxiliary aids (ASL interpreters, Braille documents) and language interpreters for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) individuals can be made available upon request at 505-316-4634.
