Santa Fe County has announced the closure of its administrative offices and facilities on January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular operations will resume the following day, January 21.

The closure includes all Solid Waste Convenience Centers, which will adhere to their standard schedule by not operating on Monday. Senior centers will also be closed, with home-delivered meals provided to eligible seniors ahead of the holiday. Public Safety services will continue without interruption during this period.

The community is encouraged to participate in the NAACP's Santa Fe MLK Jr. annual celebration at the New Mexico State Capitol starting at noon. More information about the event can be found by visiting NAACP 2025 King Celebration.

"We shall overcome. We shall overcome. Deep in my heart, I do believe we shall overcome. And I believe it because somehow the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice," Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., 1965.
