$4,000 Donation made to Guardians of the Children Rio Grande Chapter Motorcycle Club.
Members of the Guardian of the Children Rio Grande Chapter Motorcycle Club, joined Sheriff Adan Mendoza and SFSO Detective Alexandria Hancock, to accept a check for $4,000 on behalf of the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.
April was national Child Abuse Prevention Month and SFSO Detective Hancock took it upon herself to launch a one-woman fundraising effort over the last six weeks to raise money for Child Abuse Prevention.
The money Detective Hancock raised, by selling tee-shirts that she designed and printed, brought in the $4,000.
Guardians of the Children is a club which recognizes and reacts to child abuse, serving as advocates to provide strength and stability to families and children in crises.
New Mexico has the second-highest percentage of children suffering from repeat maltreatment in the nation.
The SFSO extends or thanks to Detective Hancock for her dedication and commitment to this incredible effort and we thank the Guardians of the Children for all the volunteer work they do to contribute to families and children in crises.
Detective, you did an incredible job!
