One of our #favoritethings about having a dog-friendly community is the ability to walk out the front door and hit the trails and explore with our best friends. Dogs are welcome on the County Trail Network and are always good company when discovering new sights throughout the canyons, mesas, and mountains of Los Alamos.
Help your dog share the trails! On Los Alamos County trails, all dogs must be on a leash when within 100 yards of a trailhead, and under voice and sight control at all times. When you see approaching hikers and dogs, ensure your dog is under your control as soon as possible. When visiting the national park sites, remember to learn which trails are dog-friendly before heading out.
