Justin S. Green, Commissioner District 1 | County Of Santa Fe

Santa Fe, NM - Justin Greene, Santa Fe County Commissioner for District 1, will moderate a community meeting on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tesuque Volunteer Fire Station, located at 4 Senda de Fuego, Santa Fe, NM 87506. The meeting is organized in collaboration with Bishop's Lodge Resort to inform residents about the resort’s discharge permit for their package wastewater treatment plant.

The meeting aims to provide an opportunity for the community to understand the specifics of the discharge permit application into Tesuque Creek and to voice their concerns and ask questions. Bishop’s Lodge Resort will present details about the wastewater treatment plant, on-site water recycling, and the discharge permit application submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The public comment period for this permit ends on July 1, 2024.

While Santa Fe County does not have regulatory authority over this permit—federal oversight by USEPA is required—the county is committed to facilitating information dissemination and supporting resident concerns regarding environmental protection.

The New Mexico Environment Department has been invited to attend the meeting.

Comments to the EPA can be sent directly to Evelyn Rosborough at 214-665-7515 or rosborough.evelyn@epa.gov.

Further questions and comments can also be directed to Santa Fe County Commissioner Justin Greene at jsgreene@santafecountynm.gov or Constituent Services Liaison Ambra Baca at aabaca@santafecountynm.gov.
