The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute (BHI) in Las Vegas, NM, remains unaffected by the ongoing flash flooding in San Miguel County. Reports of evacuations due to flooding in the community prompted concerns from families and loved ones of BHI residents.
"Our location is not in the evacuation area, and we wanted to assure families of loved ones at the facility that everyone is secure from the storm," stated Timothy Shields, executive director for the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. "Patients and residents of BHI and our Meadows facilities are safe and doing well," he added. Shields also expressed gratitude towards BHI staff who worked extended hours to ensure the comfort and safety of patients and residents.
For inquiries about loved ones at BHI, individuals can call 505-454-2100. The Behavioral Health Institute will continue to stay in close contact with local authorities to monitor weather conditions and will provide updates as they become available.
