The New Mexico Association of Counties Clerk's Affiliate has announced its new bipartisan leadership slate for the upcoming term. This group represents a balance of party affiliations and perspectives from both urban and rural areas, aimed at ensuring the continued success and integrity of the Clerk's Affiliate.

Rosangela Ortiz, with extensive elections experience in Santa Fe County, the Election Assistance Commission, and the New Mexico Secretary of State's Office, will serve as Chair. Ortiz brings an MBA and a strong background in public administration to her role. She commented, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this position and optimistic about the positive change we can achieve together. With experience at the state and federal levels, and now with boots on the ground experience, I am ready to develop tools and methods of collaboration to benefit us all.”

Shelly Trujillo, currently serving as Sierra County Clerk since 2016 and a past Chair of the Affiliate, will take on the role of Vice Chair. Trujillo attended Western University and is known for her dedication to her community. She aims to foster collaboration within the Clerk's Affiliate.

Joey Dominguez, Chief Deputy Clerk of Sandoval County, will be Treasurer. Dominguez has led several innovative programs in Sandoval County while working on a Criminal Justice degree. His financial management skills are expected to maintain fiscal integrity within the Affiliate.

Mike Milam will continue as Secretary. The Valencia County Clerk brings real estate expertise and certification as a county clerk to his ongoing role.

Outgoing Chair Brenda Green expressed enthusiasm for the new leadership team: “I’m excited to be turning over the leadership of the New Mexico County Clerks Affiliate to Rosangela Ortiz as incoming Chair, and Joey Dominguez as incoming Treasurer... Both Rosangela and Joey bring fresh innovative ideas... Balanced with years of experience Shelly and Mike add...the Clerks Affiliate will continue to be successful moving forward.”

The new leadership slate reflects a bipartisan commitment from members representing both Democratic and Republican parties across urban and rural counties. They aim to uphold values promoting best practices while supporting professional development among clerks statewide.
