The Regional Emergency Communications Center (RECC) has announced the grand opening of its new facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for July 29, 2024, at 10:00 am at 23 Camino Justicia.

The RECC serves as an integrated call and dispatch center, providing emergency and non-emergency response services for multiple public safety agencies in the Santa Fe Region. These include the Santa Fe Police Department, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Fe Fire Department, Santa Fe County Fire Department, Town of Edgewood Police Department, San Miguel County Fire, and Village of Pecos Fire Department. The center also handles dispatch services for animal control across the City, County, and Town of Edgewood.

The new facility features advanced equipment such as modernized dispatch consoles and redundant systems to ensure uninterrupted 9-1-1 service during emergencies. This upgrade aims to enhance response times and improve public safety.

Designed with employee well-being in mind, the center includes amenities like calming colors, a decompression room, a fully equipped break room with healthier meal options for employees working 12-hour shifts, and a dedicated conference and training room. Administrative staff will have individual offices to foster productivity.

"We are excited to open the doors to the new RECC which showcases our commitment to public safety and the well-being of our dedicated first responders," said Roberto Lujan, RECC Director.

The community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony where refreshments will be served. Attendees can meet the team behind RECC's dispatch services and tour the new facility. Parking is available at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Facility parking lot or alongside Camino Justicia.
