Office of Emergency Management seeks members for local emergency planning committee

The Office of Emergency Management in Santa Fe, NM, is seeking representatives from various sectors to join the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). The committee's mandate includes developing an emergency response plan, specifically a Hazardous Materials Emergency Plan, to address hazardous chemicals within the community.

Eligible members must reside in the county or be affiliated with an organization operating within it. All appointments require confirmation by the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) based on letters of interest and qualifications.

Key responsibilities for LEPC members include serving a two-year term, attending regular meetings at least quarterly or as determined by the LEPC or its Chairperson, and informing the public about chemicals present in the community.
