The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is set to reopen on November 20, 2024. This follows the discovery of a gas leak on November 12 and subsequent repairs and inspections that have confirmed the building's safety for staff and public reentry.

In response to the gas leak, Santa Fe County declared a procurement emergency to expedite the hiring of a contractor. The contractor prioritized repair work, extending efforts into the weekend to ensure completion. Inspections were finalized today, allowing the office to resume normal operations at 8:00 am on November 20.

Santa Fe County worked closely with New Mexico Gas to resolve the issue efficiently and ensure safety for both employees and the public. An apology was extended for any inconvenience caused by this incident.
