FOIA Request to New Mexico State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.

The Santa Fe Standard, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act. The request is specifically for a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and general instruction.

As a media organization, we at the Santa Fe Standard are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We look forward to receiving this important information that will aid in our mission of providing comprehensive news coverage on local governmental affairs.
