Washington, D.C. - The Santa Fe County Clerk's Office has announced that Clerk Katharine E. Clark will participate in the National Association of Counties' (NACo) Debriefing Session titled "Administering The Election." She will represent over 3,000 counties nationwide at this event in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. The session aims to provide a platform for officials to discuss their experiences and challenges during the 2024 election season.

Clerk Clark will join a panel discussion to explore her office's efforts to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the 2024 General Election. Other panelists include Matt Chase, CEO and Executive Director of NACo; Honorable Donald Palmer, Commissioner of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission; Amy Cohen, Executive Director of the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED); and Cait Conley, Senior Advisor to the Director of Election Security at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The agenda also includes an overview of county-level election administration by NACo member Stacy Nakintu and policy recommendations for future election administration discussed by Paige Mellerio from NACo and Gideon Cohn-Postar from the Institute for Responsive Government (IRG).

"I am honored to represent local election officials at the National Association of Counties' official 2024 Election debrief," stated Clerk Clark. "This election was one of the best run in recent memory, with extraordinary measures taken to prepare and secure it. We hope lessons learned by local election officials will continue to inform election policy at the state and national level."
