City of Santa Fe issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.
Due to unseasonably warm weather and the efficiency of staff, Bicentennial Pool will remain open until October 30, 2020, weather permitting. The facility will be open by reservation only for 45 minute swim sessions, with COVID-safe protocols.
“Given weather forecasts, I am thrilled to announce that Bicentennial Pool will remain open. The resilience from my team has been incredible. The safety concerns and COVID protocols followed by our patrons and our employees has been exceptional,” said Recreation Director John P. Muñoz.
Reservations for swim sessions will still be accepted by phone only. Please call 505 955-4778 or 505 955-4779 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday – Friday at least 24 hours in advance to reserve a space.
Facility hours of operations:
Monday-Friday:
7:30 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. (last session starts at 1:30 p.m.)
Saturday/Sunday:
10 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
The Bicentennial Pool will use EPA-approved disinfectants and perform sanitizing and disinfecting best practices as provided by the CDC. New cleaning guidelines have been established for staff. These plans include detailed checklists and schedules. For example: all high-touch areas will be cleaned every hour (equipment, doorknobs, countertops, handles etc.). Bicentennial has invested in extra hand sanitizing stations, disinfecting wipes and cleaning products, and they are readily available for member use throughout the facility.
