Santa Fe, NM - The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Santa Fe has been closed indefinitely following the detection of a gas leak on November 12, 2024. Located at 327 Sandoval St., the office will remain shut until necessary repairs are completed and it is deemed safe for occupancy.

In response to the incident, Santa Fe County declared a procurement emergency and plans to have a contractor assess the situation promptly. While the office remains inaccessible to the public, staff members are working remotely to minimize service disruptions. It is important to note that court operations continue unaffected by this closure.

Catherine Lynch, Media, Communications, and Data Specialist for the FJDA, stated: “Although this is a severe disruption the FJDA is committed to serving our district. We take the health and safety of our employees seriously and will adjust to ensure our office can resume business.”

Efforts are underway by Santa Fe County in collaboration with New Mexico Gas to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
