Diggers from Lone Peak Hotshots hand crew dig direct line on the fire's edge at night when fire activity is less intense. They are stopping the fire's progress by removing ground fuels, scraping a line down to mineral soil between the fire and dry unburned vegetation. This photo is from a couple nights ago as the crew was working on the west side of the fire in Division R.
