UPDATE - CLOSURE ALERT 2/15/23 8:30am: Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered closure for all non-essential county government facilities and operations for Wednesday, Feb. 15, due to hazardous weather conditions. Among the closed non-essential facilities closed are the aquatic center, ice rink, libraries, golf course, Nature Center, Fuller Lodge Art Center, and both visitor centers.

County officials note that the Atomic City Transit fixed route and paratransit services will be suspended today, however, on-demand transportation service will be provided from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Please call ACT (505) 661-7433 to schedule any transportation requests.

The Eco Station and Overlook convenience center trash drop-off sites will be closed, and residential and commercial trash pickup is suspended, including special cul-de-sac pickups.

While the social services physical office will be closed, employees are working remotely, if assistance is needed.

Betty Ehart and White Rock Senior Centers are closed. No lunch will be served today. Snow bags have been delivered to meals on wheels with shelf-stable meals.

The Teen Center hopes to be open 12-6 p.m. after reassessing road conditions mid-afternoon.

The Fuller Lodge Art Center afterschool programs are currently scheduled as normal but will have minimal teaching staff. Fuller Lodge Adult Ceramics Class students will be contacted by their teacher with information on possible rescheduling.

County crews are working to clear major roads and streets according to the FY23 Snow and Ice Control Plan.

The County’s MyDrive site allows individuals to view the conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County: https://www.losalamosnm.us/.../depa.../public_works/my_drive - Users should click the intersection image to activate the live feed on YouTube.

Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous
