Santa Fe, NM- The Santa Fe County Public Works Department and the Sustainability Office, in collaboration with Keep Santa Fe Beautiful (KSFB) for the national Great American Clean Up, have announced a free trash drop-off opportunity for County residents. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at all County Convenience centers.

According to the announcement, the Great American Cleanup is a significant community improvement program aimed at ending littering, enhancing recycling efforts, and beautifying communities throughout the United States. In the words of the organizers, "Volunteerism is at the heart of this community improvement program and can transform our public spaces and community, removing pounds of litter for a cleaner future."

Residents are encouraged to participate in the cleanup by registering with KSFB and picking up gloves and bags on Wednesday, April 10th, at 1142 Siler Road Bldg. C. In preparation for the event, individuals are advised to select a location near their homes and gather a group of friends, family, co-workers, or neighbors to help in the cleanup efforts.

The initiative aims to instill a sense of pride in the community and promote a healthier environment. As stated by the organizers, "When everyone pitches in to make a difference and put trash where it belongs, the community is paid back with a healthier environment, pride in one’s surroundings, and an undeniably beautiful New Mexican landscape."
