Santa Fe County has announced that its administrative offices will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. This decision honors the eight Pueblo Nations and other Indigenous peoples from various sovereign nations within the community. The offices will reopen on Tuesday, October 15.

The closure coincides with the usual Monday shutdown of the Solid Waste Convenience Centers and a temporary halt in operations at all senior centers. Consequently, activities at these centers will be canceled. To accommodate seniors during this period, additional home-delivered meals will be provided to those eligible before the holiday. Public Safety services will remain operational without any disruption.

Indigenous Peoples' Day serves as a moment for the community to reflect on the ongoing challenges faced by Indigenous peoples while celebrating their resilience and cultural contributions to both Santa Fe County and the nation.
