The Santa Fe County Community Services Department has announced the availability of funding for health and wellness programs targeting adults, seniors, and youth within the area. This opportunity, presented through a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA), aims to enhance life quality for residents in several communities, including Edgewood, Eldorado, Cerrillos, Chimayo, Santa Cruz, and El Rancho.

Health and wellness professionals possessing the necessary credentials are invited to submit proposals for programs that may include fitness classes, nutrition education, mindfulness training, and other related wellness services. An emphasis is placed on culturally aware and bilingual (English and Spanish) services, with collaboration expected with the Community Services Department for service promotion.

A total of $120,000 in funding is available, with a minimum of $30,000 allocated per program. The application deadline is 2:00 PM on May 30, 2025. Programs are expected to run from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The funding is intended to supplement, not replace, existing resources, and priority is given to proposals addressing needs in rural areas.

Applications must be submitted along with a two-page proposal summary and three reference letters, via the specified Drop Box link. Evaluation of submissions will be conducted by the Community Services Department's Health Services Sub-Committee based on criteria included in the application packet. Applicants will be informed of the decision within 30 days post-submission deadline.

Santa Fe County reserves the right to terminate the NOFA based on funding availability. "Santa Fe County shall have the right to terminate this Notice of Funding Availability at any time," and "is not committed to the expenditure of any funds until such time they are programmed, budgeted, encumbered and approved for expenditure."

Prospective applicants can access application specifications on the Santa Fe County website.
