Los Alamos County issued the following announcement on March 24.
REDINet Board Members and Representative Teresa Leger Fernandez gathered in Española City Hall Council Chambers for an announcement of an appropriation to boost internet strength for Northern New Mexico. The appropriation is part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Representative Teresa Leger Fernandez received a total of 74 project proposals, although each congressional office was only allowed to include ten proposals in the initial review for inclusion in the Bill. Out of the proposals submitted, nine of the ten were funded. Funding for the Española area was over $879,000. Total funding New Mexico received also includes a $30-a-month-subsidy through the Affordable Connectivity Program to help qualifying New Mexicans afford service.
