Christopher Harris appointed as NMHealth's new outreach director

Patrick Allen, Secretary of NMHealth, announced today the appointment of Christopher Harris as the Marketing Public Education Outreach Director for the department.

Allen expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition to the team, stating, “We are very excited to have Christopher join the team here at NMHealth. Christopher’s deep knowledge of marketing and engagement will help the department promote all the programs and services we offer to help make New Mexico the healthiest state by 2040.”

Harris brings with him a wealth of experience in digital marketing, web development, email marketing, content development, social media and marketing analytics. His previous roles include serving as Director of Marketing and Communications for Build Change where he led a rebranding effort and revamped audience segments and content strategy to re-engage lapsed donors.

Additionally, Harris has served as Director of Engagement Marketing for the University of Colorado where he developed a multi-channel strategy for a single day giving campaign that generated over $300,000. He also held the position of Director of Marketing for the Davis Phinney Foundation where he increased donor engagement and retention. Other roles include positions at The Water Research Foundation and Colorado School of Public Health.

Harris holds a bachelor's degree from Champlain College and a master's degree in organizational communication from the University of Denver.

Upon his appointment, Harris said: “I am deeply honored to join the New Mexico Department of Health as the Marketing Public Education Outreach Director. I am committed to leveraging innovative strategies to propel our state towards its vision of becoming one of the healthiest in the nation by 2040.”
